Summertime...
Hello everyone.
So, I know I haven't posted in a while. The end of last week was a flurry of activity going to the Nissan and Toyota dealerships with Mom (and sometimes Dad, too) so that Mom could decide what kind of car to buy. Hmmm... let's see if I can remember all of the visits. Thursday (Aug 2) morning we went to the Nissan dealership and Mom test drove three vehicles (Murano, Xterra, and Pathfinder). Friday morning we went back to the Nissan dealership so she could test drive the Pathfinder and Xterra one more time, and then we went to the Toyota dealership and she test drove the 4Runner and Highlander. Friday evening we went back to the Nissan dealership with Dad and he drove the Xterra and Pathfinder. Saturday morning I stayed home and they went out to settle on a car. They decided on a Pathfinder - it's red in case you are curious.
Our new car had to come from Charlotte, NC. As a result, they gave Mom, being nice, one of the new Pathfinders. She drove it home, and then drove Blue (Dad's vehicle) for the rest of the weekend because she didn't want to drive a vehicle that was not hers. Monday morning she asked my dad to take it to work so she could drive Blue out and about. He went to start it up, but it wouldn't. My dad had a lunch he had to go to, so he and my mom went back to the Nissan dealership and picked up another vehicle, this time one of their loaners (an Altima). That got us through to yesterday evening when they went to pick up the red Pathfinder. It took forever for them to come get the marooned Pathfinder. They were going to come Monday afternoon, but then they said Tuesday morning was better, and that they would come at 10:30. The next morning Mom and I got up and got ready in a hurry so as to be dressed when they arrived. 11:00 came but they had not, so Mom called them. They said they had been filming a commerical and would be right over. Noon came without them coming, so Mom called again and the person said that they couldn't find the house. As it turns out they turned the wrong way on a road (according to them, Dad doesn't believe it). We had lunch and were waiting some more until finally a vehicle from the dealership showed up. Out of the car came the salesman who had taken care of us Thursday and Friday. Mom said he said that we would still have been waiting, except he heard Mom's name and volunteered to go take care of it. That is our escapade of the week.
Other than that, this week has been very boring. Mom and I went to the pool Mon, Tues, and yesterday. We were going to go today except it was thundering. I have been doing some college research, and this afternoon I cleaned the kitchen. Dad has been working at home today because he had a release last night.
Saturday we have a party to go to, so that should break up the monotony a little bit. At the end of next week we are going to WV, so I am looking foreward to then.
Oh, well, I'll stop yacking.
