The end of the summer is drawing near...
Hi everyone -
Sorry that I haven't updated in about two weeks. I'll try to pick up where I left off.
We ended up going to that party after dinner because my dad had some yard stuff to do that he had been putting off for a while. My grandparents came when it started (4:30) and left at 7. We got there at about 7:15. We just missed them, and heard from the host that my grandmother was going berserk wondering where we were and worrying (she even called my mom's cell phone - why anyone would try that if they didn't need to is beyond me). It was a little boring until it was just a few people left so everyone was together having a conversation (in the kitchen, of course). We left there at about 9:30 or so. I can't remember because it has been almost two weeks.
The week that followed was filled with a whole lot of nothing.
This past Saturday through yesterday (August 18-21) I went on a trip to WV to see all my relatives in Mannington/Fairmont. We left at about 9:30 Saturday morning and got there a little after 2 in the afternoon. We hung around Aunt Louise's for a while, and then I went to Aunt Ann's to be with Cati before going to church. Dinner was at Aunt Ann's (pork roast), and then Cati showed me her new laptop. Sunday morning we got up and everyone but myself and my dad went to church. My grandmother got sick, so my mom went to my Aunt Louise's church with her. Dad had to bring my mom to Aunt Louise's, so I was left at the Jones/Bonnette residence with John. That was boring. Aunt Ann took me to Louise's where everyone was having lunch. Mom, Dad, and I went to Clarksburg to Lowe's to get stuff to stain the railing of the relatively new ramp. When we got back, Sherry, John, and Cati had arrived, as well as Terry and Kelsey. The rest of the day was spent having fun playing croquet, eating dinner (hot dogs with home made ice cream for dessert), and chasing around the two little kids of two relatives that came that I had never seen or heard of before. Kelsey came to Aunt Ann's and we had a sleepover, except I went to sleep at 10:30. The next morning I went over to Aunt Louise's with Mom and Dad, and Aunt Ann was already there. We bid my grandparents goodbye because they decided to leave a day early. My dad had to make a business call, and my mom and I helped Aunt Ann pick beans, cucumbers, and much more in the garden (tomatoes were picked the previous afternoon). We had lunch and then went to Aunt Ann's to pick up Cati and Kelsey, get our suits on, and head to the river. We had a fun time on the Ash family boat until it started to thunder. At least we had gone back to the dock to drop off stuff. We didn't get as much time as we would have liked, but oh well. It rained really hard so we decided to go to Terry's. We spent a little while there before heading back to Aunt Ann's for dinner (pork bbq made from the loads of leftover pork roast). That evening was more computer stuff. Yesterday morning was just get up, get ready, say goodbye, and leave (at a leisurely pace, of course). We got home at about 3:30.
Today begins the mad scramble to get everything done that I meant to do on the days spent doing a whole lot of nothing! Oh, well.
