All About Me

This week has had a case of the blahs...

Well, this week has been very boring. In the interest of time, I won't go into every detail.

On Monday, my new English class started. We did a letter to the teachers and then how to format a friendly letter. That was boring, and followed by the syllabus. Boooooring!

Monday in CCD we got our new book, but the teacher could only find 3 copies so it was hard to teach the lesson (luckily I was one of the three with a book :) ).

There wasn't much interesting stuff that went on yesterday. We got new seats in Spanish. I find it odd that my teacher has just now realized that I am the only person that can keep my friend in line (and therefore need to be sitting next to him).

Today I had my second new English class. We did an annotation of a poem (which I had never done before). It seemed to be very interesting, and a good way to organize my thoughts on a piece of writing.

My dad has spent a good amount of time in the evenings this week assembling his computer. He doesn't have the motherboard (it was damaged, but still sent), so he can't do much.

I can't believe that it is already Wednesday (and time for bed). This week has flown by.

That's the highlights for you...

Friday - today

Hello -

Well, Friday I didn't do much. I probably watched TV, surfed the net, read some. Oh, and I turned in my cookie form. I'm glad that the ordering stage is done with.

Friday evening our upstairs was very cold. We have two furnaces, so the upstairs is on a different thermostat than the rest of the house. My mom was up there watching TV. I don't know how she could stand it, and not think that perhaps something was up. When my dad came up to say good night to me, he noticed that it was very cold. He then clomped up and down the stairs loads of times (which was a pain for someone trying to go to sleep). He eventually (after a few times up and down the stairs) figured out that the batteries were dead. At least that was an easy fix (2 dead AA batteries is much easier to fix than a bad furnace ignitor or some such nonsense).

Yesterday morning I had my dad help me with the Algebra problems that I didn't understand from my homework. That afternoon we went to get our hair cut. My hair was so long that I thought it was too sh0rt at first (just because it had been so long for such a long time). We went to get batteries (my dad didn't want to leave his rechargeables in the thermostat, but Fri night that was all we had). I then went with my mom to Lowes and to the mall. I got a couple of headbands because I like to wear them (and they're in for older folk (teenagers as opposed to 7-year-olds)). We went to T.G.I.Friday for dinner because my mom had seen a commercial for their oreo cake that you can get with their 3-course deals. I shared it - It was plenty big for two people, let alone one.

This morning Mom and I went to church as usual.

This afternoon I will probably read and go to the grocery store with Mom just to get out of the house. I am like her in that I don't like to stay at home for a long period of time.

My week/vacation

Hello everyone -

Wednesday in History we did major review for my quest on Tuesday. Instead 0f having the groups present, we just took notes. It makes me mad that one group got to present, but the rest didn't (I was one of those who didn't). We put in the same amount of work that the group that presented did, so why wouldn't we get to present as well?

In Spanish yesterday we did work on our reading comprehension stories. I had already done most of the work that needed to be done, so I spent the time doing some work but also trying to get the person that sits next to me to do some work (rather than reading his IR book). I gave up after a while. After lunch we took a quiz on verb tenses that was only going to count as a homework grade. My Spanish teacher was complaining about all the grading she still had to do.

Yesterday in Algebra I had a quiz. It was long. While taking it, I thought I did pretty well. My teacher really wanted to get her grading done, so she graded the quizes as they were turned out. I got a B+. That is pretty good. I got an 88.18% for the quarter (That's almost a B+).

After school yesterday I did my homework (Algebra worksheet and History studying). My dad came home, and we went to get something to eat and then pick up my mom's car. We are pretty sure that the problem that has been going on for a long time is fixed! Yay!

I don't remember what I did this morning. Mom and I had lunch, and then I looked to see what I want to do for the Spirit Alive (religious medal). I then took the files off of my Neo. Mom needed to go to the store, so I went with her.

When we got back from the store, I put away some of the groceries, and then it was time to go to my orthodontist appointment. When we got home from that I had a small snack while watching some TV, and then cleaned up the kitchen.

Mom had to have dinner early, so I ate with her because we were having a meal (quesadillas and soup) that I don't like to cook totally for myself. After I had dinner I helped to clean up, and then I came up to my room. I noticed my trashcan needed emptying, so I did that. I then decided to update here and surf the net. I will probably do that and surf the net before I go to bed in a couple of hours.

Let it snow!

Hello -

I'm sorry that I forgot to update for over a week.

Last Sunday (1/14) was really busy. I got up, went to church (sang in the choir), then went to lunch. I then went back to church for a religious medal meeting. After that meeting I had to bolt to get to Westfield HS for my MLK day performance. My group was the first on. They got our song and director wrong. The opening people yakked so much that we sat down on the risers! When we got done, I went to stand in the back until I saw that there were seats. I finally did find a seat.

That concert was LONG!!! It started at 4 pm and wasn't done until after 6:30 pm. There were a bunch of school groups (like mine) but there were also some individuals and some step teams that shouldn't have been in the program. Something that i thought was very odd (and rude) was that people left after their performance of interest was done. At one point the man I was sitting next to said "did somebody say fire?". Afterward, my mom said that if she had been sitting with me we would have left too. I felt bad for the groups at the end that had the least number of people to watch them perform.

On MLK day I did some neatening and cleaning/ironing. Nothing much of importance happened during that week.

This past Saturday I finished up a little bit of homework. In the afternoon my mom and I went out selling cookies, and only found one person at home. We couldn't stay out that long because my mom had somplace to be at 4 that she had to leave at 3:30. My dad and I went to Chili's that night for dinner.

This past Sunday morning my mom and I went to church. I served. We went to lunch because of a WorkCamp meeting. As we were going over there it started to snow! After we were done eating we went to Target to kill some time. We were back to the church early, so my mom wanted to clean up the choir cables. She didn't realize that there were baptisms, so we went around outside to the sacristy to re-organize the altar server robes. We got that done ten minutes before our meeting was supposed to start. Everybody was late because of the snow. We had our meeting, and then we went back to clean up the cables. When we were leaving the youth minister and her husband (a chaperon for the guys and ex-youth minister at the church) were leaving as well. It was still snowing. We had to scrape the snow off our cars. Mom noticed that we needed to get gas, so we stopped. I had gone in to the store to get a beverage and snack. As I was coming out my mom was coming in, saying she couldn't get her gas door open. So she got screw drivers, and with me pulling the lever inside the car she was able to get it open. After that ordeal, it took us forever to get home. All told, it probably took us an hour and 20 minutes to do an ordinarily 20-30 minute trip. The reason was because of the snow there were delays/accidents all over the place.

Yesterday morning we had a 2 hour delay. Yay!!! It took our bus 40 minutes to do an ordinarily 10-15 minute trip. The road was a sheet of ice, so everybody was creeping, and some of the smaller cars probably got stuck/stalled (that was the case in the other direction). My bus driver kept his window open and kept telling people going the opposite direction that.

As a result of the roads being a mess, my history teacher was able to get almost no review done. He had to move our quest back another day. It will be interesting to see how far behind we are when it gets down to SOL time.

Today was yet another boring A day. I did not like Physics this morning because we were going over a whole bunch of activities that I didn't understand and I got almost all of the answers wrong. In English because we had a sub we actually did quite a bit. It was amazing!!! We worked the whole time in choir on our French piece.

Today after school I had to finish up Algebra work that I forgot to do for yesterday, and do some major Algebra studying, as well as History studying. I discovered today that there is more work for the stories in Spanish than I thought. UUGGH.

Tonight I am probably going to finish up a journal entry (I have a notebook where I write stories or on topics, not a daily journal), read, and definitely watch Gilmore Girls. I don't have to take a shower because I took one yesterday evening (CCD was canceled).

Sorry if I rambled on too much for you.

One month until my birthday...

Hello -

My 17th birthday is in a month!!! Today is January 13th, and my birthday is February 13th!!!

This morning while lying in bed I got this notion (that I get every year) that I have missed the deadline for Camp Crossroads teen staff registration. I got so nervous that I couldn't even sleep! So of course if I wanted to get back to sleep, I would have to check it out. I did, and there wasn't even information about 2007 up yet (It will be after Monday)! Relieved, I went back to sleep for another half-hour, and got up at about 9:00.

I watched TV for a little bit to wake up, and then I made my breakfast. Today, since it is Saturday, I had two frozen sausage links that I heated on the stove. I also had some Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. After I was done with my breakfast I cleaned up and then went upstairs to take a shower. When I was done with my shower I got ready for the day.

This morning I had to do a little Spanish homework. My teacher has us read little stories and then write a diary entry based on them. I am a little behind on it, so I decided that I needed to do a little but this morning. However, I didn't do much - all I did was one diary entry.

Today for lunch I had some soup (that I shared with my dad), some lunchmeat and cheese, some chips, and a couple cookies.

This afternoon my mom and I went out around the neighborhood to get people to order Girl Scout cookies. Since we missed out on a whole weekend of selling time, my mom and I decided to just go to the people that always buy from us (and expect us to come!). Besides, we are both getting a little tired of pounding the pavement (That's what we call schlepping around the neighborhood selling cookies at every house).

We came back because my mom thought her car would be ready, but it can't be fixed by the place we take it, so it is going to go to some Toyota specialist on Monday. It stinks that we don't have two cars because then if somebody has to go someplace, then the other person is stuck at home. Anyway, I decided to have a snack (I had Chex Mix Bold Party Mix).

My mom was going to go to the store to get something for dinner, but I reminded her that we don't have much time to sell cookies because we lost a weekend and will be busy all day tomorrow. She agreed, and besides I don't think she really wanted to cook.

We went to Logan's Roadhouse for dinner. On our way home we stopped at Blooms to get lunchmeat. When we got home I decided to update. I added a little bit more music to my iPod (from a CD).

I think I am going to put my PJs on and be comfy as soon as I am done typing. I will probably read the paper, watch TV, or do some web surfing in the time before I go to bed.

Toodles...

so far I've been good

Hi -

Well, here's a 2nd post in a few days. I'm trying to make up for my lack of posting. Oh, and by the way, if there were any parts in Wednesday's blog that didn't make sense because there were a lot of typos, I appologize. For some reason my hands were really cold then.

So, Wednesday evening I did a little web surfing and then I watched some TV with my mom. Oh, something I forgot to mention is that my dad left this past Monday for Dallas, and got back yesterday.

Yesterday morning I had a dream in the time close to when it is time to get up. In my dream my alarm went off, but it wasn't quite time to wake up yet, so I turned it off with the snooze button. When my alarm actually went off, my brain didn't just think that it was time to wake up. I started to panic because I thought I had overslept. I raced over to my door to close it and turn on the lights really bright, then I raced over to myh closet to get my clothes. As I was changing I looked up at the time on my ceiling and realized that it was only 5:47 - 2 minutes after my alarm is supposed to go off). I was relieved when I discovered that.

When it was time I went to my bus stop. My bus was a little later than it has been this week, but not late. When I got to school I went to my locker and then out to my history class (in a trailer, in case you didn't know). It was locked, so I went to my Physics teacher to get a graphing program from her, but she escaped just as I was coming. I waited for her, and then went back to my history class. During that class we took notes. In Web Development I had to fix my slideshow (even though I thought it was fine) and then start the planning for another assignment. In Spanish I worked on vocab and commands. In Algebra yesterday we did more notes. It's as if all we do in that class is notes.

I got to go home on the bus yesterday (yay!!!). After school I had a snack, did my homework, and in the evening took a shower.

Today I got up, and went to school. Because it was Friday, I had to go to the school library until 7:50 while the teachers had their collaboration time. When that was over, I went to my locker and then to Physics. I had a sub in that class. We had a quiz that I didn't even know we were going to have, and then we did work in our textbook. My teacher forgot to copy a worksheet we were supposed to do, so we didn't have as much to do. In Choir LS I had to rehearse for the MLK performance on Sunday. During Algebra LS we went over the quiz we took early this week. I did okay - 88 %. I got confused with when you use coefficients to determine turns and end behavior of polynomials, and when you use the degree. Oh, well. During English we had to scurry to finish Rip Van Winkle. My class tried to get my teacher off on to a tangent, but it only worked for a few minutes. We then had to take our Rip Van Winkle/Romanticism quiz. At the end of class my teacher mentioned that a new class was going to be formed (which I have known about for weeks) so I am going to switch in to that class (I was going to switch anyway :) ). In Choir today we just watched a movie because we had a sub. After school I had a History Club meeting and then Mr. Abadie (the sponsor) took me home because my dad had to go to the office and my mom still doesn't have her car back.

When I got home I had a snack, did my homework, and then waited for my dad to get home. We went to Jerry's for dinner, and had a nice after-dinner conversation. We didn't get back until about 8:00. I then cleared our downstairs pre-recorded list of my programming and read the newspaper.

Tomorrow I have to do a Spanish diary (I ran out of time today). I will probably have to sell cookies (my leader finally registered us, so my mom got the forms at her meeting yesterday evening).

Sunday I have church, then I have a religious medal meeting and in the late afternoon I have the MLK performance. Sunday is going to be a busy day. Luckily I have Monday off, so I will have a chance to relax.

Oh well, I'd best be getting to bed.

'Til tomorrow...

relative visit and 2007 so far

Hi -

So, a lot has happened since I last updated. For one thing, the visits of my relatives. On Thursday (12/28) morning I got up and immediately took a shower so that I could be out of the way for my mom to clean it. I had had a little bit of a cold, but that morning I woke up with the running nose part of it. Not fun - I went through loads of tissues that day. I baked cookies in the morning, and then my dad and I had lunch. My mom had to sing at a funeral at noon that her choir was asked to sing at. That afternoon my relatives arrived. When it was time, we had lasagne.

Friday (12/29) morning we got up and had a big pancake breakfast. Then my grandparents left to continue on otheir way down to FL. My aunt, uncle, cousin, and my family and I just hung out for the rest of the morning. We had lunch and then went into DC on the Metro to see the white house and christmas trees. We then went over to see the washington monument and world war II memorial. It was about dinner time when we were heading home, so when we got back to the Metro station that we parked at, we headed over to Friday's to eat instead of home. After dinner we went home. My cousin had to take a bath.

Saturday morning we hung out, and then that afternoon my uncle, cousin, and I were outside on our swings. They left in the middle of the afternoon.

Sunday morning I sang in the choir and then went to my grandparents' (mom's side) house for the night.

Tuesday (1/2) it was time to go back to school. I don't really remember much about that week. Last weekend it was really warm on Saturday. I wrote my thank you notes, so I didn't get much outside time. Sunday I went to church and was an altar server. That afternoon I went over a choral piece that I will be singing on Sunday in a MLK Jr. memorial performance, purged and some papers from my filing cabinet.

Monday I went to school, came home, did my meager amount of homework (A day), and went to CCD that evening. We had holy hour, so I was not happy. Yesterday I went to school, stayed after for Algebra, came home, did my homework, and in the evening took a shower. Today I went to school, went to my 504 meeting, came home, did my homework, and decided to finish updating my blog. I am really sorry that I forgot, but since I don't update it every day, I often forget.
