Uuugghhh!

That describes my mood right now.

This afternoon my mom and I went to a fabric store looking for patterns. I found ones that looked cute but I couldn't see myself in. It was really annoying. Finally my mom found a pattern for a dress and a pattern for a jumper. Then came the hurdle of finding fabric. I didn't really like any of the colors that were available in the fabrics that are right for the patterns. I settled on black for the jumper, figuring that black is very versatile.

Another ugh thing is that my mom signed me up for an SAT prep course (yes, I'm now going to be a junior) that is Tuesday nights from 7 to 9. Not exactly prime time for me (That is my do whatever I want time, as I do my homework soon after I get home from school :) ).

Also, not including this weekend, I only have two more days of freedom. That would only be four if you count the weekend. Where has this summer gone? I wish summers were twice as long (but doesn't everybody) !!!

I'll stop grumbling now.

I haven't been doing much lately...

Hi -

Well, since I only have three more days (not counting the weekend) until I have to go back to school, I haven't been doing much for the past few days. I have just been doing nothing, watching tv, reading, going on errands with my mom - that's about it. This summer has gone by so fast. The one highlight of yesterday and today is that yesterday I had pork chops and corn for dinner, and today I am going to be having spaghetti with meat sauce.

That's about all I've got to say. Toodloo.

The beginning of the end to my summer.

Hello, everyone.

Well, yesterday i went and got my schedule. I have a trailer class yet again, which stinks, but at least it isn't a class in which I go to lunch (that would mean two trips to and from the trailer). There is also something really freaky about my schedule. You see, 9th grade I had Biology 1st period, last year I had Chemistry 1st period, and this year I have Physics 1st period. Freaky/creepy, huh? Other than that my schedule is just fine. I have choir later in the day, which is nice (before it was first thing in the morning on B days).

After I got my schedule, found my classrooms, and ordered my yearbook, I called my dad to come pick me up (my mom was handing out packets). I called him at 4:30, and then went and stood by my mom. He said he would call when he was getting closer, and he never did. So, I called him at 5 till 5. He said he hadn't left the office yet, but was going to in a couple minutes. Finally at 5:14 he showed up. All the while I had been standing next to my mom in the noisy, crowded hallway. Not my idea of a nice late afternoon. After my dad came to pick me up and we went home he continued to work, and I don't remember what I did. We went to Baja Fresh for dinner. At about 7:30 my mom got home and ate the Subway dinner she picked up on her way home. Last night I ironed while I watched Little House on the Prairie and then the Cosby show. At 9:30 I quit and sat down to watch TV (after going downstairs and grabbing a soda from the fridge). I went to bed at my usual 10:00.

Well, got to go becuase Gilmore Girls is on and once school starts I won't be able to watch it at this time.

Birthdays, Blues, and Happiness

Hello everyone!

Well it is safe to distribute the link to this blog now because I have finished my summer Algebra II work!!! Hooray!!!! I am so happy!!! Okay, I'll stop now and continue.

This past weekend I went to Mannington, WV for my great aunt's 80th birthday party (her actual birthday isn't until Thursday). My uncle rode with my family there but back with my grandparents, which I was glad about because then I got the whole back seat to myself (my mom rode back there with me on Friday). We got to Mannington (about 45 minutes south of Morgantown) at about 2:00 after leaving at about 9:15 that morning. That afternoon was boring because one of my second cousins was busy with sports stuff, and the other was at an orthodontist appointment in Morgantown and then had to pick up our pizza dinner at 5:15. When she finally got here it was dinnertime. We then talked for a while (caught up) and my other 2nd cousin came with her mother. A little bit later most of the under-70 crowd hung out in the driveway. We talked until it was about 9:30 when my 2nd cousin and I went with her mother back to her house. Her grandmother also lives there, so took my other second cousin with her. Us three got settled in the basement, and then we played a board game called A Question of Scruples - very perverted (about half the questions are about lovers). At about 11:00 they were going to watch a video but decided not to. Then the other of my relatives that was staying overnight wanted to listen to a Queen CD to go to sleep, but I couldn't. I finally had them turn it off, but then it still took me a while to go to sleep because of continuous noise. The next morning I woke up before everyone else was up, and then when someone else was up I got up, had breakfast, took a shower, and by that time my other relatives were up. My one cousin had to leave to go sell horses, but the cousin that lives in that house and I played darts and then surfed the net. After that we went over to my great aunt that's turning 80's house for the day. At about 2:00 we went back over to the other house to get our clothes for the party, then over to Fairmont to pick up the cake and decorate the room. We went over to my other 2nd cousin's house for a couple hours until it was time to go to the restaurant for the party. It was a very interesting party, the food was good (but hot). My great aunt was very surprised. At about 9:30 we left to go to bed and as soon as we got back we crashed.

Sunday morning I was woken up at 7 to be ready at 8:30 (when I was going to get up in 10 minutes) and had pancakes and sausage. I then packed up and got ready to go. My parents came early, which I was not happy about, and then we got to town too early for mass. My mom got coffee, and then we went over to the church parking lot. Mass was long and boring because I couldn't understand the priest very well (he is from the Belgian Congo). We were going to leave right after church but decided to stay through lunch. My grandparents and uncle left right after church. My other great aunt came with one of the other relatives that was staying at her house for lunch, although my second cousin didn't know I was still here so stayed home and surfed the net (last chance before school). We left after lunch and got home only a little bit after my grandparents got home. Sunday evening I didn't do much.

Yesterday I went shopping for school clothing, and then to the pool, but had to leave early from there because someone threw up in the pool. Yesterday evening my mom had choir practice.

This morning I finished up the last graphs and surfed the net while my mom was out mowing our grass. You see, my computer has been really slow lately, probably a software problem, or at least my dad thinks so. This afternoon I have to go get my schedule, and my mom has to help hand out schedules, so I won't be able to go to the pool today. Oh, well. I think I am going to write after I clean up my bottom desk drawer.

Sorry if I have gone on too long.

I'm tired...

For some reason (probably because I had a fit earlier so was crying and now my eyes are worn out) I am tired. As a result, this entry will be short tonight.

I had BBQ Meatloaf and Au Gratin Potatoes for dinner tonight. It was delicious.

Oh, by the way, my appointment today wasn't that bad but I did get one strange question that I didn't know how to answer. When she (my doctor) asked a different (more specific) question, I was able to answer it.

I have spent the last hour or so creating a pack list and then laying everything out to pack for my trip to WV tomorrow. I am going to be leaving at 9:15 AM. I will be gone until sometime Sunday afternoon. I am excited because one of my second cousins (It just so happens he is the annoying little brother of my favorite second cousin) is going to be away tomorrow and most of Saturday. He is coming home from Myrtle Beach on Saturday but they don't know when he'll be back. All the better for us girls.

See you on Sunday.

What I've been up to.

Hi -

So, after Girl Scout day camp, I spent a couple weeks not doing much. I went to the pool a lot. I also started working on my summer work for the math class I'm taking in the fall. It is a pain trying to do that, but I'm almost done - I only have 5 problems and 18 graphs to do which I didn't know how to do at the time. I should be able to get it done easily. I also have to read a book for school, but I've been reading all summer and the book isn't that long so it shouldn't be too bad.

Last week I went to visit my dad's relatives that live near Charleston, SC. We left last Monday morning and spent most of the day traveling. We got there at about 4 PM and spent the rest of the day playing with their new puppy and eating dinner. The next morning we got up, and since my mom and I are catholic and it was a catholic holy day, we went to church out on Sullivan's Island which is only about 15 minutes from their house. That afternoon everyone went to the beach and then we went to get shrimp for dinner. Wednesday morning we got up and my dad's uncle, my mom, and I went to Boone Hall plantation. My dad's uncle volunteers on the Yorktown, which is in the Charleston Harbor, so he could get himself and someone else in for free. That afternoon my Mom, Dad, and I went to the beach after my dad's aunt, my mom, and I went to the grocery store to pick up a few things. Oh, and we also went to the farm store of the plantation we went to that morning, and got some excellent fudge. Thursday morning we got up, and my mom, dad, and I went to Charleston to see the battery/Rainbow Row. We also went to the market, but my mom didn't get anything because she said the sweet-grass baskets were too expensive. The other stuff there didn't look all that great. That afternoon we went to some yard sculpture stores and then to the beach. One of my dad's cousins came to dinner - we had fried turkey.

Friday morning we left at a reasonable time to go to Chapel Hill, NC to visit another of my dad's aunts and uncles. We had an interesting time trying to get there, what with I-95 being shut down for 11 miles (in between exits). We got a scenic tour of the area around Florence. To make sure that we were still going the right way we watched for truckers - they have radios so know the scoop about roads! We got back on to I-95 and continued on our way. We stayed overnight in Chapel Hill, and then in the morning took a driving tour of UNC and Duke. It was moving in day at UNC, so we didn't get as good a tour as my dad's aunt had hoped. We left there in the mid afternoon. I-95 was backed up around DC so we didn't get home until about 9:30 PM or so.

This past week I have just been working on my summer assingnments and vegging. Tomorrow I have an appointment to see one of the couple of doctors I see on a regular basis. I am not looking foreward to it - I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow.

Oh, well, I'd better go help my mom get ready for dinner (set the table, etc).

Bye,

Summertime...

And the livin' is easy.

That is somewhat true for me. I do have to do a summer packet for Algebra II Honors that I didn't get around to starting until yesterday. Don't worry, I'm already about 20% done.

Well, the two weeks of the camp I volunteered at went by very quickly. After a few days it cooled down, but by the end it started to heat up again. I volunteered at an Outdoor Skills center. What the girls did at this center was learn about various outdoor skills, such as compass reading, putting up tents, fire starting, match lighting, and a program called Leave No Trace. After camp Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday I went with my mom to the pool.

On the Junior (rising 4th, 5th, 6th graders) Overnight a week ago I stayed overnight to help a unit do their fire for dinner, and then I helped the camp directors put together the DVDs with the pictures from the camp on them. Then I took a shower (I was staying in a lodge) and went to sleep. Friday, since I was there early I was put to work doing inventory for 8 cooking tubs that the camp has. Since I worked at a center so therefore wouldn't have any girls to look after, that job took up most of my day. The other part was spent eating lunch, attempting to finish swapping at the end of the swap meet, and attending the camp talent/awards show (that's where all the campers get to learn the staff members' real names!!! I think it is their favorite part next to the two weeks!!!).

Last weekend I helped my dad weed and I don't remember what I did on Sunday. Monday my mom and I started to clean out my closets (I have a closet with games, etc), and went to the pool. Tuesday I had an orthodontist appointment, and my mom and I went to the mall for shopping and her hair appointment. Wednesday morning my mom and I finished cleaning out my closets. Now the stuff we cleaned out is on my floor, but I will be putting an end to that. Early yesterday afternoon we ran some errands, then went to the pool in the late afternoon. Today I worked on my packet and am now surfing. I probably will go to the pool again today, but I don't know what else.

In a couple of weeks I will be going down to South Carolina to visit some of my dad's relatives. The last weekend in August I will be making a trip with my family to West Virginia to visit with some of my Mom's relatives - one of her relatives is turning 80 and everyone is organizing a party at a restaurant for her!!!!

I'll stop rambling. Thanks for reading.
