So, that didn't happen...

Hello -

So, that didn't happen.

On Memorial Day I basically did what I said I was going to do.

Yesterday I had Physics, where we learned all about parallel circuits. Then I went directly to English, where I did the pre-writing for my Catcher in the Rye essay. My only reprieve from core-subject work came with choir, although that wasn't much of a reprieve. We had a sub so we went into sectionals. My fellow altos made it clear from the start that they had no plans of doing any work. I will be so happy next year if I get into Select because then my fellow choir members will be as eager and willing to work as I am. We then were supposed to finish a video. It wasn't the right one, but I didn't know since I had an SOL the previous class. When the movie was over they finally said something. For the rest of the class we watched a kiddie movie. That entire class period was so stupid!

After school I wrote my entire essay so that I would have time to do revisions to it, as well as time for my teachers to look at it.

This morning I had history, and the topic du jour was one of my teacher's analogies gone wild. We had to say whether in the United States are certain ethnic groups equal to the white Caucasions. The introduction, group time, and group presentations took up the entire class period. What a waste! I then went to my Web Development class. We are now down to working on our final. I enjoyed working on it except for the times when I was trying to import pictures into Flash and when I would click okay Flash would close without prompting me to save. I can not tell you how many times I did the same step over and over. I then, with only about twenty minutes left in class, began to work on my banner.

After Web Page Development I went to Spanish. We had our PALS Writing (quarterly/final exam writing examinations) and then two review project groups were supposed to present. Only two people presented (of 8) and of those two there was only one person who was prepared and professional. Also in Spanish and during lunch today I had to deal with the attitude of my classmate/friend Mitchell. He had to do a major PowerPoint/10 page essay assignment yesterday (given yesterday, due tomorrow) all yesterday because of play practice today until 8 pm. He also had a lot of math homework to complete. As a result of all this, he didn't sleep AT ALL. You can imagine the problems that ensued. Even without the lack of sleep and the stress load Mitchell is a very temperamental person. During lunch someone asked him why he was in such a bad mood. I explained the lack of sleep. This person said that that wasn't an excuse, so Mitchell said "Shut the f--- up! I don't f---ing care! within earshot of the administrator table. He was sent up to the subschool for the rest of the lunch period.

After Spanish came Algebra, where we learned 3 (6.5-6.7) lessons in less than an hour and a half. You can not imagine how happy I was to be finished with that class and the school day! I then had to stay after for a rehearsal for an extra group I am singing with for the June choral department concert. After I came home and had a snack I then had to do over an hour of math homework. UUGH!

Tomorrow I can go pick up my yearbook!

My Spanish presentation is on Friday. I will let you know how that goes.

I think that's it.

Deep appologies are in order...

To all my faithful readers:

I am so sorry that I have not updated this blog in almost two months. School and other activities got away from me and I forgot to update. The last quarter of the school year can often do that to a student.

On with my recent story:

Well, the end of the year is drawing near. That is both a good thing and a bad thing. The good thing is that summer is almost here and I will not have to deal with any of my teachers who are jerk teachers. The bad thing is that the time period from the week of Memorial Day to the end of the school year is often the most packed with activities in addition to studying for finals. Here it is Memorial Day 2007 so the busyness is about to begin.

Here is an overview of what will be happening in my life in the next few weeks (I'll report back on each of these (we hope :) ):

  • Besides my normal during the school day choir, I am singing with an after school group (that has meetings after school Wednesday).
  • My usual weekly stay-after time with my math teacher.
  • SAT on June 2nd
  • Camp Crossroads Training and serving at mass June 3rd.
  • Spanish project due this Friday, English project due the following Monday
  • final History club meeting of the school year June 7th.
  • June 8th - Choral Awards concert
  • June 9th - Girl Scout 95th Sing-a-Long in DC
  • June 10th - WorkCamp tool training (finally!)
  • June 11th & 13th- after school rehearsal for the choral graduation performance
  • June 12 - 15: finals
  • June 12 - after school orthodontist appointment
  • June 15 - graduation (choral performance)
  • final WorkCamp meeting before the 10:30 mass on June 17th.
  • I may help out at new altar server trainings on June 16th and 23rd.

Is that not enough?

Saturday I worked on my two projects for most of the day. Yesterday morning I went to church (sang) and in the afternoon went to the grocery store and then continued to clean. My grandparents and uncle came to my house for a barbequed chicken and mixed frozen vegetable dinner. For dessert my uncle brought delicious strawberry sorbet and chocolate "cookies". Today I have been doing some clean-up from yesterday's festivities, and I will do various household tasks in addition to surfing the net and studying some for my SAT.

I will try to update later to tell you exactly what I did.
