School will be coming soon...

Hello everyone -

Well, on Monday I went to get my schedule. I didn't get Mr. Kelly for English, but I did get two trailer classes and all of my hard classes on the same day. So the scheduler was kind in some ways but not kind in others. Oh well, I guess I should just take what I can get. One of my friends got Mr. Kelly, so I can imagine that he is in for a shocker of a year in that class.

This week was mostly spent going to the pool, writing, and doing errands. We sure did a lot of errands yesterday. Yesterday morning I went with Mom to the school library to help her get most of what she needed to get done done.

This morning I had to go get bloodwork done. Because I couldn't eat before the test that Dr. Link wanted done, Mom and I got up really early and went to the Fairfax Quest Diagnostics. We had made an appointment so that they would take care of us and we wouldn't just be a part of the line. There were at least two people there ahead of us, but because of the appointment I got to go before them and we got out to go get breakfast sooner than we would have had we not made an appointment. They were only five minutes late. To think that we had been complaining about Quest being slow and we could have been making an appointment and not had the wait all along. Oh, well.

Not much else worth writing about for the week. Tomorrow morning my family and I are getting up early to go visit our relatives in W PA. My aunt, uncle, and cousin came in yesterday evening because they were going to go to the local ammusement park today. We will be coming back Sunday because I have to start school on Tuesday.

I am not looking forward to summer being over. But this year is my senior year!

The mad scramble is underway...

Hello -

So, in the past few days I haven't done a whole lot of stuff worth writing paragraphs about. I went to the pool a few times with Mom. I have been cleaning, writing, reading, and doing other stuff that I have meant to do all summer long. Today after church we had to hurry to have lunch at Einstein Bagels because the choir sang at the local assisted living place in Reston at 1pm and we don't get done with mass and cleaned up and everything until noon. Tomorrow I have to go pick up my schedule. Not much else to write about, so I guess I'll stop.

Cleaning behind the refrigerator...

Hello again. I know this is the second post of the day, but my mom decided to clean behind the refrigerator today. It was the first time since we built/moved into the house in late 1999. Here's a picture:

Bad, huh? Hopefully that will make her decide to clean behind the fridge more often than every 8 years. Oh, well.

The end of the summer is drawing near...

Hi everyone -

Sorry that I haven't updated in about two weeks. I'll try to pick up where I left off.

We ended up going to that party after dinner because my dad had some yard stuff to do that he had been putting off for a while. My grandparents came when it started (4:30) and left at 7. We got there at about 7:15. We just missed them, and heard from the host that my grandmother was going berserk wondering where we were and worrying (she even called my mom's cell phone - why anyone would try that if they didn't need to is beyond me). It was a little boring until it was just a few people left so everyone was together having a conversation (in the kitchen, of course). We left there at about 9:30 or so. I can't remember because it has been almost two weeks.

The week that followed was filled with a whole lot of nothing.

This past Saturday through yesterday (August 18-21) I went on a trip to WV to see all my relatives in Mannington/Fairmont. We left at about 9:30 Saturday morning and got there a little after 2 in the afternoon. We hung around Aunt Louise's for a while, and then I went to Aunt Ann's to be with Cati before going to church. Dinner was at Aunt Ann's (pork roast), and then Cati showed me her new laptop. Sunday morning we got up and everyone but myself and my dad went to church. My grandmother got sick, so my mom went to my Aunt Louise's church with her. Dad had to bring my mom to Aunt Louise's, so I was left at the Jones/Bonnette residence with John. That was boring. Aunt Ann took me to Louise's where everyone was having lunch. Mom, Dad, and I went to Clarksburg to Lowe's to get stuff to stain the railing of the relatively new ramp. When we got back, Sherry, John, and Cati had arrived, as well as Terry and Kelsey. The rest of the day was spent having fun playing croquet, eating dinner (hot dogs with home made ice cream for dessert), and chasing around the two little kids of two relatives that came that I had never seen or heard of before. Kelsey came to Aunt Ann's and we had a sleepover, except I went to sleep at 10:30. The next morning I went over to Aunt Louise's with Mom and Dad, and Aunt Ann was already there. We bid my grandparents goodbye because they decided to leave a day early. My dad had to make a business call, and my mom and I helped Aunt Ann pick beans, cucumbers, and much more in the garden (tomatoes were picked the previous afternoon). We had lunch and then went to Aunt Ann's to pick up Cati and Kelsey, get our suits on, and head to the river. We had a fun time on the Ash family boat until it started to thunder. At least we had gone back to the dock to drop off stuff. We didn't get as much time as we would have liked, but oh well. It rained really hard so we decided to go to Terry's. We spent a little while there before heading back to Aunt Ann's for dinner (pork bbq made from the loads of leftover pork roast). That evening was more computer stuff. Yesterday morning was just get up, get ready, say goodbye, and leave (at a leisurely pace, of course). We got home at about 3:30.

Today begins the mad scramble to get everything done that I meant to do on the days spent doing a whole lot of nothing! Oh, well.

Summertime...

Hello everyone.

So, I know I haven't posted in a while. The end of last week was a flurry of activity going to the Nissan and Toyota dealerships with Mom (and sometimes Dad, too) so that Mom could decide what kind of car to buy. Hmmm... let's see if I can remember all of the visits. Thursday (Aug 2) morning we went to the Nissan dealership and Mom test drove three vehicles (Murano, Xterra, and Pathfinder). Friday morning we went back to the Nissan dealership so she could test drive the Pathfinder and Xterra one more time, and then we went to the Toyota dealership and she test drove the 4Runner and Highlander. Friday evening we went back to the Nissan dealership with Dad and he drove the Xterra and Pathfinder. Saturday morning I stayed home and they went out to settle on a car. They decided on a Pathfinder - it's red in case you are curious.

Our new car had to come from Charlotte, NC. As a result, they gave Mom, being nice, one of the new Pathfinders. She drove it home, and then drove Blue (Dad's vehicle) for the rest of the weekend because she didn't want to drive a vehicle that was not hers. Monday morning she asked my dad to take it to work so she could drive Blue out and about. He went to start it up, but it wouldn't. My dad had a lunch he had to go to, so he and my mom went back to the Nissan dealership and picked up another vehicle, this time one of their loaners (an Altima). That got us through to yesterday evening when they went to pick up the red Pathfinder. It took forever for them to come get the marooned Pathfinder. They were going to come Monday afternoon, but then they said Tuesday morning was better, and that they would come at 10:30. The next morning Mom and I got up and got ready in a hurry so as to be dressed when they arrived. 11:00 came but they had not, so Mom called them. They said they had been filming a commerical and would be right over. Noon came without them coming, so Mom called again and the person said that they couldn't find the house. As it turns out they turned the wrong way on a road (according to them, Dad doesn't believe it). We had lunch and were waiting some more until finally a vehicle from the dealership showed up. Out of the car came the salesman who had taken care of us Thursday and Friday. Mom said he said that we would still have been waiting, except he heard Mom's name and volunteered to go take care of it. That is our escapade of the week.

Other than that, this week has been very boring. Mom and I went to the pool Mon, Tues, and yesterday. We were going to go today except it was thundering. I have been doing some college research, and this afternoon I cleaned the kitchen. Dad has been working at home today because he had a release last night.

Saturday we have a party to go to, so that should break up the monotony a little bit. At the end of next week we are going to WV, so I am looking foreward to then.

Oh, well, I'll stop yacking.
