WorkCamp!

Hi everyone!

So, the reason that you haven't heard from me in over a week is because I have been at Work Camp for a week. For those of you who may not know what WorkCamp is, I will tell you. Most everyone is Catholic (one girl on my crew was Methodist). Every evening there is a program with music, speakers, etc. We had adoration and an intentions rosary Tuesday night, and a eucharistic procession Thursday night. It is four days of working on the home of a person in need with a crew of 5 - 6 people (Mon - Thurs). Sunday is team-building games and activities. This year we were not tied together (like we were last year), but we had to carry a full water cooler around all day by holding on to a rope. The only way we could dispense with the water was to drink it. That was still better than being tied together! Friday (today) was a day of celebration and ending program. This year was my third year, and I had a great time. I am really tired though (I had a long day of work and my parish didn't get to sleep until after midnight and we had to get up at 7 AM this morning!)

I think that's all I have to say!

School's Out for Summer!

Hello, everyone,

Yes, I was thinking of the Alice Cooper song when I came up with that title.

Anyway, I am finished with school for the year. My last day was actually yesterday. I finished all my finals last week, and got an A, B+, or B on all of them. Friday I had to go sing at graduation. We were supposed to have a bus back as soon as we were finished singing the national anthem, but because schools were letting out then we had to wait or have our parents pick us up. Since my mom was a chaperone, that wouldn't have worked. So, I got to stay and see all the Class of 2007 people that I know graduate.

This morning I did some laundry and began to prepare for Work Camp. This afternoon I am probably going to go to the pool and with mom to the store.

Frustrating Friday

Hello -

Yesterday was a very frustrating day for me. In my Web Development class I had to incorporate sound into my project but the sound that I had brought in was very choppy, and I had to break it up anyway to go over three scenes. In Spanish, my group didn't communicate as to who was supposed to do what, so we ended up with two people doing the same thing. Algebra was very frustrating because it was the class after the three-lesson class so I didn't know how to do basically anything (and my test is on Tuesday). I stayed after school, per usual, but there were so many people there that my teacher had the review be more like a class (put problems on the board) so I couldn't get one-on-one help. After that I had to do all of my Algebra homework. As you can see, Friday (yesterday) was a very frustrating day.

As I have probably mentioned before, I was supposed to take the SAT this morning. However, the power was not working at the test center (just so happens it's my school). With the generator my room was lit but not everywhere was. As a result, no one could take the test. They made us all sit out in the hallway. When it was time to leave I had to go to the main office to use the phone because I couldn't see to use any of the others, and even then the people there first pointed to the pay phone across the hall. I didn't have any change with me, so they let me use the student phone in the main office. I was simply following the rule of ABSOLUTELY NO CELL PHONES AT THE TEST CENTER(which no one else followed)!

We all have to come back on another day (and I don't know when that day is going to be). I wanted to get it over with, but now I have to wait and get up early on another Saturday!

Okay, I'm done with my rant.
